Lowcountry Boneyard, the 3rd installment of Susan M. Boyer’s cozy mystery series, keeps up the tradition of a well paced murder mystery wrapped in the beautiful layed back Stella Maris SC.
I have to admit, as probably most of us do, I spend a good part of the time reading a mystery, trying to solve the riddle of who done it, how, and why before it is revealed. These Liz Talbot Mysteries are different for me in that I am typically so entertained by the unique (often hilarious) characters, breathtaking lowcounrty scenery, and well placed twists and turns – that I give up the game and give myself to the story, simply enjoying the ride till the end. And I am never disappointed.
I don’t want to give too much away for anyone who has not yet read a book in this series, but..
Franklin and his shotguns, Carolyn and her lipstick – Bless their hearts!
There are seven books in this series, so far. I enjoy these stories to the point I’m trying to spread them out, read a few other authors, genres in between, make them last. Unfortunately/Fortunately, book #4 Lowcountry Bordello, is really tempting me. My glance at the book back blurb leads me to believe this next volume may be Christmas related – and what is better than reading a lowcountry Christmas cozy mystery in the middle of the summer? Nothing!!
